Behaviour in Meetings

•   Individuals will express views openly, courteously, and respectfully always.
•   Individuals may make statements, ask genuine questions, and explain their reasoning and intent. They will treat everyone in the room with respect whether they agree or disagree with the other viewpoint or idea.
•   Individuals will promote equality by not discriminating against any person and by treating people with respect regardless of race, age, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or disability.

Inappropriate behaviour

•   Isolated incidents of unreasonable behaviour such as abruptness, sharpness or rudeness are deemed to be unacceptable. Individuals have the right to let the other person know how they feel to avoid a repeat of such behaviour.
•   No member shall obstruct the transaction of business at a meeting or behave offensively or improperly. If this is ignored, the chairperson of the meeting shall request such members to moderate or improve their conduct
•   If a person disregards the request of the chairperson to moderate or improve their conduct, then any member present (including the chairperson) may move that the person be no longer heard or excluded from the meeting. The motion, if seconded, will be put to a vote without further discussion.
•   If such a resolution is ignored, the chairperson of the meeting may take further reasonable steps to restore order or to progress the meeting. This may include suspending or closing the meeting.
