Planning Concerns for the application S23/0496: a 2-storey side extension to The Cottage, Brandon, Road, Stubton, NG23 5BY.

There was a lively debate between residents and councillors in a discussion of the proposed building extension.
Highways have expressed concerns regarding the number of parking spaces. Ideally, three parking spaces should be provided for a 4-bedroom house. Additionally, the garage size was noted to be smaller than the normal garage size and not feasible to call it a garage (3x6m).
Positives and Negatives: The proposed extension has been noted to fit in with the village's design and aesthetics. However, there are concerns that the building could be overbearing and incur a loss of light for the neighbouring property. Potential loss of parking space with resultant additional parking on the road and pavement may pose safety risks.
It was agreed the comments would be taken away from the meeting and used as a basis for the response from the council.
